ASQ Silicon Valley Programs Chair volunteer opportunity

Silicon Valley ASQ Section is looking for a Programs Chair now to begin planning 2012 program activities.  This is great opportunity to meet quality leaders in the community and beyond.  As Programs Chair, you have access to anybody who has a quality mindset.  Everybody who believe in quality likes to share and arranging Programs give you a chance to talk about quality.

ASQ Silicon Valley Section 0613 Programs Chair – Volunteer Description

Objective:

  • Lead and Plan Section Meetings Event, typically 9 meetings a year
  • Events include dinner meetings, factory tours and group picnic

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with member unit leadership team to set goals/metrics to support the member unit's management process as they relate to programs and activities development.
  • Communicate/report to the member unit leadership team activities planned, status of against plans for member unit program and activities development.
  • Determine focus of member unit events and programs.
  • Solicit speakers to match topics.
  • Work with arrangements chair to coordinate speaker needs.
  • Work with newsletter editor to publish events in a timely manner.
  • Attend member unit leadership council meetings and general membership meetings.
  • Uphold society bylaws, policies and procedures, and section operating agreement.

Qualifications

  • Must be an ASQ member in good standing.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of needs assessment tools.
  • Event planning experience.
