Marketing Chair Job Description:

OBJECTIVE:

Develop and implement marketing plans to market and communicate SV ASQ participation value to groups and individuals, the needs of the SV ASQ section, programs, offerings and activities to members, community, other ASQ Sections and Divisions, and outside organizations in a timely manner.

ACTIVITIES:

  • Education Classes
  • Certification Courses
  • Quality Conference
  • Monthly Networking Meetings
  • Monthly Leadership Team Meetings
  • Special Interest Meetings (e.g. Statistics)
  • Picnic

SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:

  • Understanding of marketing methods, tools, vehicles
  • Use of social media- Such as:Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
  • Computer skills- Such as: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Graphic programs
  • Social networking campaigner
  • Communication skills- Verbal and written, multi-lingual a plus
  • Dynamic, self starter, organized, creative

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Work with Section Leadership Committee (SLC) to set goals/metrics to support the Section's management process as they relate to section marketing..

· Communicate/report to the SLC activities performed, status of performance against goals/metric set, etc. for section marketing.

· Communicate all section events to:

o Local newspapers

o Local radio stations

o Local television community calendars

o Section newsletter

o Section website

o ASQ events calendar

o Quality Progress

o ASQWire (weekly enewsletter; for larger conferences with a wide regional appeal expecting 200 or more attendees)

o Quality Central (monthly enewsletter for ASQ non-member customers)

· Attend SLC meetings and regular membership meetings.

· Uphold Society Bylaws, Policies and Procedures, and Section Operating Agreement.

MEASURE of SUCCESS:

Increase in individual engagement in section’s activities and offerings by the general public, Quality professionals, educators of collegiate Quality programs, students in Quality programs, Industry participation (companies,etc.), and ASQ section members of all levels.
