PROFILE

STATISTICIAN - QUALITY IMPROVEMENT AND PROCESS OPTIMIZATION: Expert in setup and implementation of Statistical Process Control programs and process improvement using Design of Experiments and Quality tools. Strengths include data analysis, working with teams, and training. Excellent analytical, communication and problem solving skills.

PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS

Statistical Methods
  • Review white papers, consult and advise Intel engineering personnel on statistical methods (T-test, F-test, ANOVA, variance components, autocorrelated processes, non-normal distributions.)
  • Performed a correlation analysis comparing two different methods of measurement of a critical property of rigid disks. (MMC)
  • Assisted quality personnel with numerous correlation analyses comparing supplier test equipment with JDSU test equipment.
  • Determined capability of electronic test equipment using variance components with multiple variables. (Corning)
  • Identified key sources of process variation at Corning using variance components studies (measurement error studies).
Statistical Process Control
  • Coordinate and administer Process Control System at Intel fab. Approve Statistical Process Control (SPC) limits for various processes.
  • Implemented an accuracy and measurement error control chart which helped to stabilize and reduce variability of a key test process affecting virtually all JDSU product. Reduced variation by more than 50%.
  • Achieved significant reduction in process variation by using target control chart to analyze feedback control data from feeder (extrusion) process. Recognized by Raychem TQ Emmy award.
  • Performed analysis & review of sputter manufacturing control charts at MMC. Determined appropriate control limits for analysis of substrate data.
  • Developed innovative average and range charts for rigid disk polish process.

Design of Experiments

  • Designed and set up experiment to optimize texture process at MMC, resulting in at least 60% reduction in defect rate.
  • Saved JDSU millions of dollars by designing a full factorial experiment using binary (pass/fail) data and minimizing sample size to improve the reliability of expensive fiber optics components.
  • Determined the accuracy and precision of crucial test equipment using designed experiments. (JDSU)

Quality Engineering / Training

  • Teach classes in Basic Statistics, Design of Experiments and Process Control. (Intel)
  • Participated on Medtronic Lean Sigma Kaizen team; achieved 50% reduction in defect rate, 80% reduction in floor space, and 40% increase in productivity.
  • Reviewed and documented quality processes and SOPs, resulting in successful achievement of ISO 9001 registration on the first audit. (Raychem)
  • Responsible for planning and setup of corporate Total Quality System. Prepared quality plans, quality metrics, updated quality manuals. (Various)
