We currently have an opportunity for an experienced QUALITY ENGINEER at our Torrance, California location. In this position you will develop product evaluation procedures and techniques, assess and validate manufacturing quality processes, determine inspection methods, identify issues, and develop relevant metrics. You'll also participate in joint evaluations and investigations with Product Engineering to assess product anomalies and provide root cause corrective action plans, support receiving department inspection and product line manufacturing areas, review manufacturing planning, create reduced inspection plans, and perform process audits. In addition, you will lead, assign, prioritize, and monitor receiving area and product line tasks, provide inspection skills training to Quality Inspection staff members, and oversee test processes. You should have 8 years of engineering experience with knowledge of mechanical inspection processes, utilization of precision measuring instruments, manufacturing planning procedures, Material Review requirements, nonconformance procedures, and the utilization of precision measuring instruments. Must be results-oriented with demonstrated problem-solving skills, and be able to function effectively in a demanding, rapid turnaround environment. Effective communication and teaming skills are needed, as are knowledge of Engineering and Manufacturing flowdown requirements and assembly planning instructions. A bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field is necessary, and ASQ certifications are a plus.
